City events

Already famous event called "Kestenijada" is traditionally held every year in October. Everyone that loves good taste of specialties and deserts must not miss that happening. For our dear guests it is organized a train from Zagreb so that they could carelessly enjoy and look at the beauty of the countryside on their way to Hrvatska Kostajnica.

For the ones that love nature, it is organized transport to forest and back so that they could pick up chestnuts on their own and enjoy in walk through nature. After visiting forest they can go to the city where party is organized.

Every year some of the famous Croatian musicians are in charge for good atmosphere. In meanwhile our dear guests can enjoy in meat specialties with chestnut. Best place for that is restaurant Djed placed on the hill in nature and surrounded with forest. It is just 2 minutes with car from the city center or 20 minutes of easy walk from center through the nature.

Souvenirs and sweets can be bought in the main street where benches with all kind of products are placed.

For all fans of the speed we suggest to visit motorcycle gathering in June. Last few years interest is increasing as the number of visitors. On this event, except Croatian motorcycle lovers, there are a lot of participants from our neighbor countries. Interesting program and a lot of good time is guaranteed.

Another event that is traditionally held every year in March is called “Kobasijada”. On the island on the river Una gather all local producers of meat specialties such as sausages to show all their best products and in chose the best one. Visitors can participate in degustation and help to choose the best one. This gourmand event is definitely worth to visit.
